The YMCA sponsers an annual track meet to all elementary youth from local schools. The track meet allows boys and girls to experience first-hand several track events. Kindergarteners start the excitement with the 50 meter dash. 1st through 3rd graders have the opportunity to run the 100, 200 or 400 meter dash or run in the 400 meter relay. 4th through 6th graders step it up a notch by running 100, 200, 400 or 800 meters or the 400 meter relay. All grades can also try the softball throw and long jump.

Great job to all the youth who ran, threw or jumped during the 2008 track meet. A big THANK YOU to all the volunteers who helped out at this year’s track meet. We couldn’t have done it without you. And, Thank You to the Lincolnview school for allowing us to use their track and facilities.
